Dear 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Partners,

Thank you for the continued work and partnership in promoting awareness of the 988 Lifeline. A key goal for the next several months is to continue to make everyone aware that you can text and chat 988, as well as call the 988 Lifeline for support.

The simplest way to frame this is captured in our call to action below, and we hope you continue to share it with reporters, influencers, and others:

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org.

We continue to see 988 showing up around the country, in “You Matter” stickers, on college football player shirts and hats (go UMich!), and even on police cars in Iowa City.

We have also added new items to our 988 Partner Toolkit:

988 Branded Photos

Because of copyright concerns, the photos are available for partner use only if they are used with the 988 branding. There are currently 14 photos available. We will be working on getting more photos in the future.

Photos are available on the Logo and Branding page. Go to the + accordion labeled Photography to get to the photos and download the full image for your use.

Holiday PSA

Zak Williams, mental health advocate and the son of the late Robin Williams, has recorded a holiday PSA promoting 988. The PSA is available for you to share on your websites, social media and email newsletters from the SAMHSA YouTube channel.

988 FAQ Update

We have added a new FAQ about specialized services for LGBTQI+ youth who reach out to 988. The FAQ is the last FAQ under FAQS about 988 Basics.

SAMHSA Suicide Prevention Email Updates

The 988 Communications team routinely sends out updates when we add materials to our partner toolkit. We communicate these updates through various webinars and email lists, including the SAMHSA Suicide Prevention email list. To sign up for the email newsletter, go to the footer (or bottom) of the SAMHSA 988 website page and put your email address in the “Sign Up” box. On the next screen, scroll down to the Behavioral Health Topic Areas and select “Suicide Prevention” and then click Subscribe. You should receive an email confirming your subscription to the list.
