UPDATE INFORMATION BULLETINS

The Division has updated the Intermittent and Host Family CILA IBs in response to feedback we received regarding the rent calculation.

We also revised  the Collection of Earned Income IB in response to the Intermittent and Host Family CILA IBs.

NEW DEDICATED AT & ENABLING TECHNOLOGY WEBPAGE

One of the recommendations of the Assistive Technology and Enabling Technology workgroup of the DD Advisory Committee was a recommendation to have a dedicated DDD specific AT & Enabling Technology Webpage. We hope this is helpful to our individuals, families, and providers. We will also be updating with additional information and resources. Let us know if you have any additional suggestions! You can reach out to Derek.Hedges@illinois.gov.

NATIONAL CORE INDICATORS STAFF STABILITY SURVEY

Illinois National Core Indicators®-IDD (NCI®-IDD) Staff Stability Survey 2021 will soon be released and available to community providers who employ Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).  The survey is a voluntary activity that enables providers to be heard regarding DSP employment issues.  The survey is a valuable tool that is used to inform and guide legislation, guidance, and training. The Division hopes that you will take this opportunity to have your voice heard.  The survey access will be emailed to providers from staffstability@hrsi.org.  If you do not receive the link to the survey in the upcoming week and would like to complete the survey please contact Cynthia.schierlspreen@illinois.gov.

OIG RULE 50 TRAINING COMPLIANCE

As a result of audit findings, the Division will be required to follow up on Rule 50 Training compliance. Quarterly, BQM will randomly select providers and request documentation for proof of remediation for Rule 50 training from their most recent BALC survey.  BQM will request and review documentation provided, and results will be monitored and tracked. If providers continue to be out of compliance, BQM will address the issue with the provider and request further remediation and monitor progress.  BQM will contact providers selected starting next week.

HEALTH RISK SCREENING TOOL (HRST) UPDATE

As a reminder, all providers are required to complete an annual web-based HRST for all individuals in CILA (24hrs and ICILA). The HRST should also be updated when there is a change in health status. Additionally, Individual Service Coordination Agencies (ISC) should also be made aware of changes in health statuses.  HRST screens are required to be shared with ISCs as these are used in the Person Centered Planning process.  For more information, please reference the Information Bulletin HRST Guidance

Warmly,

Allison V. Stark
