The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) formally released its Health Workforce Strategic Plan. Mandated by the CARES Act, HHS prioritizes in the Plan: (i) recruiting and training health professionals from underserved communities; (ii) ensuring equitable distribution of the workforce across geographic areas and health professions; (iii) enabling the workforce to deliver high-quality care, including through enhancing cultural and linguistic competency of health professionals; and (iv) utilizing data to make better-informed decisions regarding health workforce education and training investments.
