In an update to a report released earlier this year, the CDC released data presenting final suicide rates from 2001-2021 by sex and age, as well as by race for 2020 and 2021. Findings include that suicide rates for males in all age groups were slightly higher than that for females despite variable increases for females, and that rates increased significantly for non-Hispanic Black and White females from 2020-2021. Learn more
